- ALAMEDA HIGH SCHOOL REMODEL
Staff, students, parents, community members and leaders are encouraged to attend a community presentation regarding the Alameda High School building renovations which is set for Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 6:00pm at Alameda High School in the Auditorium. A presentation of the addition/remodel and the phase I concept will be given. A PowerPoint presentation will be given along with propped up boards to assist with the visuals. Speakers from the City of Lakewood will be in attendance to answer any questions. The architects, Christiansen & Reece & Partners, involved in this project will be introduced and available for questions. Bruce Huxley, Director of Capital Programs, Facilities Planning & Design from Jeffco Public Schools will be present to give a brief summary of the addition/remodel.

Community members are working together and with schools to improve the Green Mtn. neighbor-hood. Since community depends upon the health of all the components making it up, the Futures Search project is working to build a better Green Mountain. The public is invited to general meeting at GMHS. Students sock hop swing with seniors - Students are inviting seniors living in Jefferson County to come cut a rug. Student council leaders from Jeffco’s 17 high schools will host the Sock Hop Swing annual senior citizen ball, at Bear Creek K-8 from 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 8. The dance will transport everyone back in time with a soda fountain shop, 50’s music and dances like the Jitterbug and the Twist. The event is a great way for young and old generations to connect through music and fun and everyone will get a prom picture to take home in a frame. The ball is free for senior citizens 55+ years.
